Complete refit of the yacht White Rose of Drach: A custom technological transformation with Crestron

In a modern home, combining thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and ease of use is a real challenge. Thanks to a custom home automation solution, it is now possible to achieve perfectly consistent temperature control across different heating systems, while maintaining intuitive daily use.
For one client, we developed an application based on a Crestron home automation system that allows for intelligent and coordinated control of multiple heat sources:

  • Thermozyklus underfloor heating

  • Daikin ducted heating

  • Wall-mounted radiators 

  • Towel warmers in the bathrooms

Coordinated control for maximum efficiency

One of the strengths of this solution is its perfectly structured control logic. Each heating system plays a specific and complementary role:

🔸 The underfloor heating and radiators provide the base temperature with stable and even heat, ensuring comfort.

🔸 The ducted heating system only acts as a supplement, allowing for rapid temperature adjustments when needed.

🔸 The towel warmers, controlled by time slots or manually, also serve as temperature regulators in the bathrooms.

This intelligent prioritization ensures optimal use of each source, avoids conflicts between equipment, and ensures thermal stability. The result: an extremely efficient system capable of quickly reaching the desired temperature while maintaining controlled consumption and absolute comfort.

A simple interface for powerful technology

Although the programming relies on a complex technical architecture, the end user benefits from an extremely simple touchscreen interface. It is no longer necessary to have all the remote controls or thermostats hanging on the wall.

From any touchscreen tablet (iPad, mobile phone, Crestron touchscreen, etc.), locally or remotely, you can:

  • Set the desired temperature in each room,

  • Choose your heating mode (comfort, rapid, or manual selection),

  • Activate or deactivate different heating types,

  • Let the home automation system automatically manage priorities based on the selected mode.

Synchronization between systems occurs in real time, ensuring a perfect balance between comfort and energy efficiency.
For complex projects requiring ongoing maintenance (luxury properties, hotels, etc.),

To ensure optimal system operation, we have programmed a secure settings and maintenance page for professionals. Accessible locally or remotely, it allows you to:
View the operating status of each zone,

Check the consistency of the control system,

Monitor faults (boilers, units, water shortage, etc.),

Perform adjustments or diagnoses remotely.

This approach greatly facilitates maintenance, reduces on-site interventions, and enhances the overall reliability of the installation.
